I’m a proud cat mom and have been for the better part of the last 10 years. I’m also a mom to a few tiny humans, but they don’t use cat litter so they will not be mentioned in this post.
I’ve used many different types of litter and litter related products such as liners, bags, and freshening powders.
My least favorite thing about my indoor cats is the fact that they poop and pee in a little box that is kept inside my house … ew. But, alas, it is what it is and I love my cats. So poop and pee in the box that sits in my closet they must. Just look at how cute they are!
Let me just clarify that I am in no way making any money or benefits at all by talking this litter up. (I have 32 followers, C’mon people).
Medium story shortened, I was down to our last family $1’s for the week, was at Target (as I typically am), remembered I needed litter, and decided to just buy the cheapest option available to me that didn’t look like complete garbage. I didn’t think it would be very good because the Target brand diapers and a few other items I’ve purchased that were store brand were terrible.
I honestly have no idea what must be different about this litter, but it is BY FAR the best litter I’ve ever used.
1.) Clumps like a boss
This clumps better than anything I’ve ever used (this was tested when my 2-year-old poured an entire pitcher of water into the litter box when my back was turned).
2.) Traps smell instantly
I change my litter very frequently as I have 2 very particular and finicky indoor cats, but even after a recent use by one of them, it traps the smell very quickly.
3.) Super affordable
Super bonus, this litter is only $6.99 for 20lb!! Comparable sizes and types of the “Name brands” would cost you anywhere between $2-$5 more. That adds up. And why pay more for less? Truly. Even if this was higher priced, I’d still prefer it to other brands. It truly is the best litter we’ve ever used.
4.) Great for multiple cats
Like I said, I have 2 indoor cats and 1 indoor/outdoor cat and even with all 3 of them using one box I haven’t had any issues!
5.) Cats love it
This is also my cat’s favorite litter. I know this because in the last 3 months of using it, I’ve only had 1 incident where one of them has peed next to the box instead of in it, and that’s only because I had gone overnight somewhere and my husband didn’t change the litter as much as I do. The peeing right next to the box had been an at least once a week habit for my cats before I started using this.
You can find the litter here or at your local Target store. It’s the “Scented Scoopable Cat Litter for Multiple Cats” by Up & Up.
